2013 - 2014 CONCERT SEASON
TOGETHER IN CONCERT
Thursday, April 10, 2014, 7 PM
Steamboat Springs High School Auditorium
Steamboat String Ensemble and Steamboat Youth Orchestra, conducted by Steamboat Symphony Orchestra artistic director, Ernest Richardson will perform music from Mozart, Bach & Beethoven.
Featuring a special guest violinist, Anna Roder, a graduate of the Steamboat Symphony Education Outreach Program, who now studies violin at Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.
Thank you for supporting the Steamboat Symphony Orchestra Education Outreach Program! We are proud to offer our local youth and amateur adults a strings education paralleled by few nonprofits, even in large metropolis areas. Students have the opportunity to study under and perform with professional musicians, many with PhDs in their instrument, under the Musical Direction of Ernest Richardson, the Steamboat Symphony Orchestra and Omaha Symphony Orchestra Musical Director and Conductor. Being inspired by top caliber teachers followed by performance opportunities in an intimate setting with a full symphony orchestra twice a year, and with their own Strings Ensemble of youth, local adult amateur and professional musicians two more times a year, is a classical music education designed to build leaders and engaged musicians in our community.
There are so many things that music education offers – self-esteem, discipline, focus, even improvement in general education test scores. Music is a precious thing – an essential element of what makes us human.
Your seat ticket purchase and your generous contributions fund scholarships for the students and keep the program alive alleviating the costs of renting rehearsal & performance venues, teacher, conductor and studio time.
