NEW! Beginning Band Camp

Dates: August 12-23 (a 2 week program that will run Monday-Friday)

Time: 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Price: $260 for 2 weeks ($240 for Arts Council members)

Where: Art Depot, Steamboat Springs

For who: Students entering 5th grade

About this camp: This camp is offered to 5th grade students who are enrolled in Beginning Band for the 2013-2014 school year. The primary focus of this camp is learning how to play a band instrument. In addition to small group instrumental lessons, other activities will include music theory and notation, musical enrichment with listening and music games, active play time, and full ensemble rehearsals. To conclude the two week session, family and friends are invited to attend a final performance! Students NOT enrolled in the public school program are also welcomed but need to email the Arts Council using the following address for added information: susan@steamboatspringsarts.com Students will need to make arrangements for their own instrument. The Music Director for band is Corinne Sommerfeld. Corinne earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Temple University and a Master in Education from American Band College. Corinne has over 11 years experience teaching middle school band
